A panel of 4 partners will describe what we do in the community to help your organization. Panel members include:
  • Central Okanagan Foundation: Cheryl Miller, Grants Manager
  • United Way: Avril Paice, Director of Community Investment
  • City of Kelowna’s Active Living & Culture Division: Louise Roberts, Community & Neighborhood Programs Manager
  • KCR: Dawn Wilkinson, Community Services Manager
  cherylCheryl Miller is the Grants Manager for the Central Okanagan Foundation; managing five grant programs and thirty volunteers.  Cheryl also manages the Community Entity and Vital Signs programs of the foundation. The majority of Cheryl’s career has been community development, volunteer and program management. Cheryl has served on several boards including InformCanada and Central Okanagan Community Gardens and currently Board president of the Arts Council of the Central Okanagan.   avrilAvril Paice is the Director of Community Investment for United Way in the Central and South Okanagan Similkameen. Originally from Princeton, BC, Avril holds a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Okanagan University College. Avril is responsible for administering United Way’s investments, initiatives, and programs in the Central and South Okanagan Similkameen. Her primary role is to leverage resources and connect charities to the support needed to create impact.  Avril’s background includes work in child protection, community development, public education, mental health, research and statistics, fund development, youth outreach, and shelters/crisis. She and her husband own a small farm in Black Mountain, Kelowna.   louiseLouise Roberts is the Community & Neighborhood Programs Manager for the City of Kelowna’s Active Living & Culture Division.  She has over 25 years experience working in the field of recreation & community development, and is involved personally as well as professionally with a number of local & international non-profit organizations.     dawnDawn Wilkinson is the Community Services Manager for Kelowna Community Resources, Board Member for Volunteer BC and AVRBC Regional Representative. She is passionate about supporting the non-profit sector’s role in making our community a healthy and vibrant place in which to live, work and play. Dawn’s work history spans business, government, university, and voluntary organizations in Manitoba, Alberta and BC and blends a variety of experiences in program development, volunteer management, and communications. She received a B.H.Ec. and a M.Sc. from the University of Manitoba.     Sponsored by the Central Okanagan Foundation, City of Kelowna, Kelowna Community Resources and United Way.
