KCR’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Clinic



KCR’s Community Volunteer Income Tax clinic is open and ready for appointments! Those with appointments are prioritized but Walk-ins are welcome depending on availability. The clinic will be open Fridays from 9:15 am – 10:30 am.

The Community Volunteer Income Tax clinic helps eligible taxpayers who have a modest income and a simple tax situation. Please read the full page to know if you qualify and what you will need to bring to your appointment.

A modest income is defined as:
  • Single person/up to $30,000
  • Couple/up to $40,000 (add $2,500 for each dependent)
  • One adult with one child/up to $35,000 (add $2,500 for each additional dependent)

A simple tax situation:
  • No Income or
  • Income from these sources:
    • employment
    • pension
    • benefits such as CPP, disability, CCB, EI, social assistance
    • RRSP
    • support payments
    • scholarships, fellowships, bursaries or grants
    • interest (under $1,000)

Your tax situation is not simple if you:
  • are self-employed or have employment expenses
  • have businesses or rental income and expenses
  • have capital gains or losses
  • file for bankruptcy
  • are completing a tax return for a deceased person

Please bring to your appointment:
  • Valid, government issued, photo id – Essential
  • 2017 Tax Slips – Essential
  • Receipts – Essential
  • Tax Forms
  • Copy of last year’s Income Tax Return
  • 2017 Tax Assessment
