KCR’s Community Volunteer Income Tax clinic is open and ready for appointments! Those with appointments are prioritized but Walk-ins are welcome depending on availability. The clinic will be open Tuesday mornings.
The Community Volunteer Income Tax clinic helps eligible taxpayers who have a modest income and a simple tax situation. Please read the full page to know if you qualify and what you will need to bring to your appointment.
A modest income is defined as:
- Single person/up to $30,000
- Couple/up to $40,000 (add $2,500 for each dependent)
- One adult with one child/up to $35,000 (add $2,500 for each additional dependent)
A simple tax situation:
- No Income or
- Income from these sources:
- employment
- pension
- benefits such as CPP, disability, CCB, EI, social assistance
- RRSP
- support payments
- scholarships, fellowships, bursaries or grants
- interest (under $1,000)
Your tax situation is not simple if you:
- are self-employed or have employment expenses
- have businesses or rental income and expenses
- have capital gains or losses
- file for bankruptcy
- are completing a tax return for a deceased person
Please bring to your appointment:
- Valid, government-issued, photo id – Essential
- 2018 Tax Slips – Essential
- Receipts – Essential
- Tax Forms
- Copy of last year’s Income Tax Return
- 2018 Tax Assessment
