KCR Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) Tax Clinic
Our KCR Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) Tax Clinic operates in partnership with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to provide free and confidential tax filing services for eligible individuals. With the support of the CRA, our dedicated volunteers help individuals with modest incomes and simple tax situations file their tax returns accurately and on time.

Our Partnership with the CRA
The CVITP is a national initiative led by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) in collaboration with community organizations like ours. The CRA provides:
- Training and support for our volunteers to ensure accurate tax filing.
- Secure tax-filing software to help process returns efficiently.
- Resources and guidance to help eligible individuals access benefits and credits they may be entitled to.
Who Can Benefit?
Our tax clinic serves individuals who have a modest income and a simple tax situation, including:
- Low-income individuals and families
- Newcomers and international students
- Seniors and persons with disabilities
- Individuals without self-employment, rental, or investment income
Why File Your Taxes?

How We Offer Our Services
To ensure accessibility, we provide multiple ways to file your taxes:
- Virtual Appointments – Get help from a volunteer online.
- In-Person Appointments – Visit our clinic for face-to-face assistance.
- Drop-Off Service – Leave your documents, fill out our forms, and our volunteers will complete your return for you to pick up on a later day. Turn around time: 4 to 8 weeks.

How to Book an Appointment?
- Dates: March to June; September to December each year (in-person appointments are available in March and April only)
- Hours:
- Drop off: 9:00am –12:00pm, 1:00pm- 4:00pm, Monday – Friday.
- In-person appointments: please speak to our receptionist to book a time for March or April only.
