Research suggests that children and youth with existing vulnerabilities including language barriers may be even more at risk of falling behind in their development of social, emotional and continued educational growth and that providing opportunities for more access to prosocial/skill building and English language programming, will help set Ukrainian children and youth up for success during their settlement in BC.

Students Arriving From Ukraine

The Province is welcoming newcomers to B.C., including displaced or refugee school age children and youth from Ukraine. The Ministry of Education and Child Care (ECC) is working to ensure students arriving in B.C. are getting the supports they need to be engaged and successful in school.
