Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP)

The Resettlement Assistance Program delivers income support and assistance for a range of immediate and essential services to Government Assisted Refugees as they transition into life in Canada. During the initial 4-6 weeks following their arrival, this program provides support, and access to fundamental services to facilitate integration into their new surroundings and establish a stable foundation for their future endeavors within Canadian society

Services & Supports

KCR receives funding from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to deliver services to families and individuals destined to Kelowna in the Central Okanagan region.
Assistance includes:
  • Meeting Government Assisted Refugees at Kelowna airport.
  • Arranging transportation and temporary accommodation.
  • Assistance in finding permanent housing.
  • Orientations on essential life skills, rights and responsibilities
  • Referrals to health, education/language instruction, and settlement/case management services.
