Program Description

The primary objective of the Job Readiness for the 21st Century Employment Program is to assist individuals who have a disability, are an immigrant, or are over the age of 50+ with finding employment.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for the Job Readiness for the 21st Century Program, participants will be individuals who have a disability, or are an immigrant, or are a 50+ worker. They must also be:
  • A resident of BC (must be Canadian citizen, landed immigrant, or protected person, but not a temporary foreign worker)
  • Unemployed or Underemployed (less than 20 hours a week)

    If unemployed, must not be on EI (and no EI claim within the last 3 years, or a maternity / parental claim in the last 5 years)

  • Not a student

  • Information on Canadian workplace culture
  • Certifications, such as First Aid & Food Safe

Additional Program Information & Dates

No cost, 7-week training – 3 hours/day, Monday-Friday.
