Program Description

The primary objective of the Job Readiness for the 21st Century Employment Program is to assist individuals who have a disability, are an immigrant, or are over the age of 50+ with finding employment.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for the Job Readiness for the 21st Century Program, participants will be individuals who have a disability, or are an immigrant, or are a 50+ worker. They must also be:
  • A resident of BC (must be Canadian citizen, landed immigrant, or protected person, but not a temporary foreign worker)
  • 18 years or older
  • Unemployed / not on EI (have not had an EI claim within the last 3 years, or a maternity / parental claim in the last 5 years)
  • Not a student

  • Your skills matched to real jobs
  • Increased confidence
  • Focused resumes and job search skills
  • Wage subsidy
  • Individual job coaching
  • Follow-up support
  • Information on Canadian workplace culture
  • Certifications, such as First Aid & Food Safe

Additional Program Information & Dates

No cost, 6-week training – 3 hours/day, Monday-Friday.

  • April 3 – May 12, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
  • April 24 – June 2, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • May 23 – June 30, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
