KCR improved our time from 1.06 minutes last year to 21 seconds this year. Wow! We obviously have been eating right and training! Maybe our pirate costumes made the difference.

Our team gained strength from two members from the Volunteer Fair Steering Committee. Laurel D’Andrea from Beyond 50 Magazine and Myra Majeran, a community volunteer, pulled more than their weight.

This is the third year we have competed in the Valley First Plan Pull Challenge hosted by the United Way. KCR is a United Way Community Partner and we receive funds for the Community Information & Volunteer Centre.
