Mom, can we do this every year?

The Family Friend Program had a Mother’s Day Celebration at our Dolphin location on Saturday, April 28, 2012.
Peals of laughter rang throughout the halls from 40 moms, children and volunteers. Activities included painting, planting, free playing and lots of munching.
Moms and their children planted flowers such as pansies and marigolds into creatively decorated pots. Older children stenciled T-shirts with the words Best Mom Hands Down and their own hand prints. Younger children made flowers out of egg cartons and popsicle sticks and planted them into small pots with Styrofoam soil.
My favorite part was that each of my children got to make something for me said a mom at the event. Our porch looks so beautiful with our freshly potted flowers.
The Family Friend Program has hosted the Mother’s Day Celebration for at least five years recalls Bev Colbow, the program Coordinator. It is a time to make Moms feel special and cared for while they have fun with their children.
