Facilitators: Kate Woodman, PhD, CE Candidate LessEffort-KateBioKate is the CEO of Catalyst Research & Development Inc., and brings 20 years of evaluation experience with all sorts of approaches to assess progress on health, social and educational issues.  The latter include primary health care, mental health, street-involved pregnant women, violence and abuse prevention, drug treatment, youth mentoring, early childhood development, and seniors “aging in place.”  Kate and Gene have worked with many groups to build evaluation capacity, and developed and used many types of evaluation tools.  Both have also led efforts to translate and use knowledge – to strengthen community action, improve practices and focus policies and funding. Eugene Krupa, PhD, CE LessEffort-GeneBioGene has 35 years experience leading design, evaluation and capacity-building initiatives with government, NGO, university & community groups.  His emphasis is on early childhood development (ECD), teen health and relationships, preventing/managing chronic illness, and their social “determinants” (e.g., poverty, education & literacy, gender, food security). Dr. Krupa was recognized by both BC Medical Association and BC Public Health Association for work in community-based ECD,  and continues with developmental evaluation & planning province-wide evaluation of ECD in Alberta. He consults on community-based programs to promote teen healthy relationships (Canada), and digital training (professional & volunteer) to improve “maternal and child health” in Zambia.   EducationalSeries-Sponsors
