On March 23, John Yap, the Minister of State for Multiculturalism and as the chair of the Immigration Task Force, MLA Norm Letnick and MLA Steve Thomson visited Kelowna Community Resources. The purpose of this visit was to hear about the Immigrant Services Programs and Welcoming Communities initiatives provided by KCR.

Immigrant Seniors met in the home of Qi Zhang for a lunch followed by an afternoon of musical entertainment.   Active Living for Seniors workshop series  is underway.  Last Wednesday the seniors learned about gardening and prepared their own hanging baskets. This week the Seniors group will be treated to a music recital by Garry Jefferson.  A light lunch will be served.

Life Skills, Education and Orientation Workshops will provide an overview of BC Society and introduce newcomers to BC and community services and assist immigrants to obtain skills related to social connections, knowledge and life skills.
